We are excited that you are considering to sign up. A few things to take in mind before you do. I have done Santa Sessions for over 17 years and have the experience to take in mind what parents and children may expect.
2025 has brought many changes, not only to our economy but also to the way we manage our business. Our prices and the way we deliver images have changed. We strongly encourage you to read this guide thoroughly so that you are aware of our new policies and deliverables.
Every photographer has different ways of handling sessions and delivering the final product. Therefore, please read this guide before you sign up. I know it may seem like a lot of information, but you will be fully aware of what to expect. If you have any questions after reading the guide or need clarification, please let us know.
CHANGE THAT WERE IMPLEMENTED IN 2024:
Get ready for a fun and memorable experience!
Our sessions are designed to be short and sweet, allowing us to capture the perfect moments without overwhelming your family. From the warm sands of the beach to the enchanting trees at the farm, or the cozy atmosphere of our studio, you can expect a relaxed environment where natural smiles and joyful interactions are our priority.
No matter the location or the theme, we'll guide you through the process, ensuring that every moment is filled with laughter and holiday cheer. Whether Santa is making an appearance or it's just your family in focus, we're here to make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
So come ready to have fun, and let us take care of the rest!
Although we do everything we can to bring a smile out of your child not all children cooperate. I have several props to distract a child and get a smile however, we cannot guarantee it. Due to Santa's schedule there will not be any re-shoots with him. We will assign a day during a weekday to re-take your child's photo and only if your child was crying for the entire session or did not cooperate at all. The session will be at my studio on an assigned weekday in Santa Ana and Santa will not be present.
While you are in my studio please use only positive discipline. We do not allow negative and toxic discipline towards your children.
I will send you an e-mail or text to ask you about your children's information. Such as their favorite things to do and or something about their life. Once we receive your information about your family, I forward it to Santa so he can strike a connection with your children the day of the session.
Santa usually keeps his distance at the start. He usually does this if the child is too young. We usually attempt to get a few photos in with Santa in the background without the child being aware he is there.
Santa will interact with your child according to his/her age and will keep him/her entertain to get more of the candid look on them with Santa.
Before signing up, please read the session description on the sign-up page to see how long your session will be. Most sessions last 15 minutes unless you hire me for a personalized session. An additional 5-minute buffer is included for Santa to hydrate or for us to reset props for the next family—this is not extra time for additional photos.
Light plays a huge roll in photography.
look and feel of the images varies through the day. As lighting varies hour per hour and day by day, I will have artificial lighting with me in order to get the best results. The closer to sunset the softer the light. See samples of my photos at http://bit.ly/santabynancy . You will be able to see the difference between sunset images and images taken earlier during harsher light.
I take a mix of candid and posed shots and have Santa make conversation with your children or read them a book to capture those moments.
